When we purchased bus tickets we checked online first. 12goAsia is a very useful site to use when traveling south east asia. Our next destination, Sukhothai, had no tickets available online, the tickets could only be purchased at bus terminal 2. One day prior to our departure date we purchased our tickets for our next destination from terminal 2.

To get to terminal 2 we rode the moped we rented, it was a short direct trip. There is another affordable moped rental company at terminal 2, it's located in the same area of the coffee shop outside. We only found out about this moped company the day we left.

Purchasing tickets at the Chiang Rai bus terminal 2 was easy. The bus tickets were affordable like most public transportation in south east Asia.
